Dual Portable GPS & Battery Cradle for iPod Touch Features
The GPS Cradle adds full GPS capabilities to the iPod Touch, allowing it to be used with apps that require location information. You can now add hundreds of new, cool uses to your iPod Touch like a Car Navigation App, Golfing App, Marine Navigation App, Geocaching App, Cycling/Running/Fitness App, Hiking/GPS Tracking App, What's Nearby App, and Social Networking App.
How does it work?
The GPS Cradle works with all 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation models of the iPod Touch (8, 16, 32 and 64GB models). Please refer to the Dual website (http://gpscradle.dualav.com) for information about compatibility with the 4th generation iPod Touch.
The GPS receiver provides location information to most any GPS-aware App available on the iTunes App Store.

GPS
The high-sensitivity GPS Receiver is built directly into the Cradle (not the windshield mount), giving you GPS capabilities on the iPod Touch wherever you go. The GPS receiver provides location information to most any GPS-aware App that requests it, adding hundreds of new uses to the iPod Touch.
Rechargeable Battery
The Cradle’s Rechargeable Battery can power the GPS receiver for approximately 10 hours of continual operation. You can also use the battery to recharge the iPod—doubling the life of the iPod battery. Charge the Cradle's battery via your car's cigarette lighter or the USB port on your computer.
Navigation on iPod Touch
The GPS receiver will work with most car and boat navigation apps (excluding the NavAtlas app from DUAL) available on the App Store, including apps from TomTom, Magellan and Navigon. A built-in amplified speaker loudly delivers navigation voice prompts. When in a car, you can also easily connect the Cradle to your car stereo and play your music and navigation voice prompts through your car speakers.
Secure docking for car or boat
The included windshield mount securely docks the Cradle with the iPod, and attaches it to the windshield for easy viewing and access. The mount is fully adjustable, including portrait and landscape positions. It has a built-in DC power jack for charging the Cradle's battery from the car's cigarette lighter, as well as a 3.5 mm audio out to connect to a car stereo. Ideal for use with car navigation Apps as well as Marine Chart Plotter Apps.
Easy charging and syncing
The Cradle features a miniUSB port for charging the rechargeable battery or syncing the iPod without having to remove the Cradle. MiniUSB to USB cable is included.

Great value, Quick Satellite fix, nothing else even close
Pros: Quick acquisition of satellites, usually a minute or less. Well built; nice design adds GPS functionality to the iPod Touch, remove it from the windshield mount and take the GPS function with you. Push a button on the back of the Cradle, to check battery level, nice touch. It can also charge the battery in your iPod Touch. Very well designed. Works well with my GPS apps. The folks a Dual are pleasant to deal with and very helpful, couldn't be more pleased. For the price you get a lot for your money. Cons: None yet Summary: I looked at two other models of GPS add ons for the iPod Touch and for me it was the only choice. I have used now for only a few days and I am very pleased. Would I recommend it; you bet. When using it with cigarette lighter power adapter the iPod and the Cradle are both being charged keeping your iPod and Cradle at 100% battery level. When you unplug the Cradle from the windshield mount you walk away with a fully charged iPod and Cradle good for several hours of walk around activities. Works for me!
