HTC Shift re: GPS /Verizon

Recently purchased HTC SHIFT With CDMA version: 800MHz, 1GB, 30GB, Vista Business, GPS

I received HTC Shift X9000

There is no mention of GPS in any of the literature I received, or on the device.  Can someone verify that if I have received the correct model?

Will it work with Verizon boadband service?

I purchased it from Expansys and received it this past Friday.  I spoke with sales this morning.  They are confused - the model I recieved is marketed as having a GPS receiver.  I am returning the device and sales is researching with purchasing.

I don't know how many times people need to be told this - there is NO Shift with GPS support at the moment. This has been extensively covered on all major forums.

The Qualcomm MSM7200 chipset on the Windows Mobile side does have GPS functionality on the chipset though this is not currently usable. There are folks on xda-developers trying to get it unlocked to work but I'm not sute its really going to happen in the short-medium term.

The ONLY GPS support at present would be via a Bluetooth/USB type GPS receiver on the Vista side.
