Hi, can anyone please help? i recently purchased an e900 to replace my razr v3i tunes phone. I''ve put my 1gb memory card in it which has approx 8 albums of music on it, all the music appears when i search the card through the phones menu, but when i try to create a playlist by adding music from my card, it shows up as EMPTY?!. I''ve checked the card and all my files inc photo''s are all there, do i need to format it? will this erase all my files? Anyone got any ideas???
Thanks for any help!

What brand is the card?
What firmware version are you using?

Can you access the songs individually from the card?
And, when you add them to a playlist, how many songs are you adding and are they all in one folder?

Yes, i can access all the songs individually from the card, just not from the music player, all songs were in one folder to start with but i read that this is no good so i put the albums into their own folders, made no difference. however, i tried my original sandisk card (512mb) put one song on it and found it and was able to add it from music player? does this mean my kingston card is not very good? firmware = E900ACFE2
thanx

No, if you can access the songs individually, then there's nothing wrong with the card.

The songs are in different folders? But are they all in the same playlist?
If so, try making a playlist with only songs from one folder in it and see if that works.

No, you can't access the memory card through PC Studio.
You access it as a separate drive in Windows Explorer.

It'll vary computer-to-computer.
Though it should tend to use the first available drive letter.

My songs are all in seperate folders listed as albums in the memory card, as opposed to all being in the music folder, then in albums, however i am not able to even add a single song from any album? every time i try to make a playlist from mem card, it just says "Empty"?!?!? if i send an album to the phones memory, then make a playlist from there, its ok. the only problem with this is the lack of memory. If i ever get this sorted, is there a limit to how many songs can be put into a playlist?
Thanx

I went into the carphone warehouse today and they said that in their experience the E900 and D900 only work with a 512Mb card and in my local T-mobile store they said that it would possibly be the firmware that needed updating. I think that the playlist can be as big as the phones memory!

I'm certain there's some weird thing with playlists, like you can only have a maximum of 30 songs in a playlist and they all have to be in the same folder.
But since I don't use my E900 for listening to music, I'm afraid I can't remember...

This is the answer: you have to put all your music files in the folder named "music" inside the memory card, but the ca'nt be arranged in folders, so this means you can have only files an no folders inside the folder "music". Now go to the music player and then select any playlist available, and the in options put "add music from" and the select "memory card" and thats it! now you can select 30 songs per playlist from your memory card. Enjoy!

I have a 2GB micro SD, purchased for the same reason - to use with for MP3s!!  I feel a bit annoyed with the whole 4 playlist thing, it seems like a bit of lazy programming from Samsung.

The only idea that I have, is using an MP3 editing tool on your PC to splice together all MP3s on an album to create a single MP3.  Then you could have 30 Albums per playlist. (and tracks will be saved together, in the correct order on your memory card, making it easier to read).

I haven't tried this yet, so I'm not sure if it'll work or not.
