GlobalSat DG-100 GPS Data Logger Features

The GlobalSat DG-100 GPS data logger can record travel data by using GPS signals. The DG-100 is completely self-contained batteries, a built-in antenna (there's also an external antenna port if you need it), and enough internal memory to log up to 50,000 waypoints. The DG100 records time, date, speed, altitude and GPS location at your preset intervals, which you can configure with the included utility software. Designed using the SiRF Star III chipset, the DG100 will provide accurate positioning and tracking for your application.

Recorded GPS data is then downloaded to your computer through it's USB port. With the included software utility (for WIN O/S/ only), user can easily export their recorded information in a variety of file formats such as .CSV, TXT and .KML, for use on Google Earth and Google Maps.

Use the DG-100 in fleet management, marine navigational aids, traveling and recreational use.

Parfait.

Great for RC planes...

I have one of these, took it apart, threw the casing away and now it fits perfectly in my Radio controlled plane!

Ideal for my purposes

I bought my DG100 in January 2008, and have taken it travelling with me. It is fast at both cold and warm start, and effectively instantaneous on hot start (eg. emerging from a tunnel). It is easy to use on commercial aircraft (held against window) and has helped me figure out just what town that was I flew over multiple times. The battery life is good - logging once every 5 seconds, I get about a day of log before the battery is flat and, as it takes AA rechargables (and will charge from USB), extending the time is as easy as swapping batteries. The only negative I have is that mine has slid across the dash of my car, crashing into either end too many times, and now is very unreliable. But I am buying another DG100 to replace it, so it's obvious that I like it.
