More
I bought one of these to replace a very poor Parrot CK3100.
The first thing that needs to be mentioned about this kit is the sound quality - it is absolutely excellent, in both directions. The noise cancellation works brilliantly, significantly better than my old CK3100 which, by comparison, made me sound as if I was underwater if there was any wind noise at all.
The unit comes with a remote control (on a cable), which you can place somewhere within easy reach. I found the controls a bit fiddly to start with (they put the 'take call' and 'hang up' buttons right next to each other and they are not lit, for example) and the dial used for input can get confused if you turn it too quickly.
The display is customisable to match the colour of your dashboard, allegedly - in practise I found the default 'blue' to look really good, and the others to look pretty naff; it would be nice if Nokia had allowed the user to select colours manually.
The display is very bright and easy to read - it has an auto-dimming feature which can reduce the brightness after a fixed time, which works well but appears to be disabled when in a call. It also has a 'night mode' which has to be manually selected - unfortunately there is no input to allow this to be linked to the headlights - it would be useful if Nokia could add a facility to enable night mode by holding a button rather than having to navigate through the menus.
It is worth mentioning that the display scratches very easily - I managed to scratch it slightly while installing it.
Fitting was easy - using the built in speakers it is a matter of connecting four wires and mounting the display and controls.
I am using the kit with an old Motorola V3 'RAZR' - it works well and downloaded the address book with no problems.
The kit supports activation of voice dialing (it activates the voice dialing feature on the connected phone) and I found that it works well, even at speed.
With the V3, the kit does not seem to be able to display the number of a call that is made on the phone (either directly or by 'voice dial') and it doesn't display the network name - this is a little odd as the old Parrot CK3100 managed both.
In all, this is an excellent device and I am extremely pleased with it - the sound quality is fantastic, it looks good and it works well - there are a few minor niggles which Nokia could probably sort with a firmware update, but nothing serious.
If you want a quality hands-free kit which looks good and actually works, you should probably buy this one.
