What is an "Unlocked" phone?
Many cell phones are designed to use a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card to store subscriber data. These SIM cards are issued by the carrier and provide cell service to the phone. "Locked" cell phones will only recognize SIM cards from the carrier that originally provided the phone. Almost every cell phone provided by a US carrier is locked to that carrier’s network.
"Unlocked" cell phones will recognize SIM cards from any carrier using Global System Mobile Communications (GSM) technology. Customers with "unlocked" cell phones are able to use any GSM carrier of their choosing, including "pre-pay" or "no contract" SIM card options. "Unlocked" cell phones also accept international SIM cards that provide discounted rates while traveling abroad.

Excellent, robust phone
I bought this as a back-up phone for use while out walking in the hills and kayaking. It has an exceptional battery life, is easy to use and takes knocks, bumps and dunkings in its stride. Audio is clear and loud and it picks up signals easily while rarely dropping calls. Its nice to put down my temperamental iPhone down for a while and use a proper phone once in a while!

Great basic phone
This is a very good basic phone with waterproof and drop-proof features. Camera works well but the operating system is a little sluggish, but for the price it is excellent phone which I use when I'm sailing or other outdoor activities.

Wow, great phone.
Got this for my wife who had 2 Nokia N95's, one went through the wash, the other got dropped. The B2100 is smaller than expected and the camera is very good indeed, picture quality isn't far off the N95!! Call quality is very good. The features and menu systems are good. It all works very well. A surprising hit as my wife likes it better than the N95 and I tend to agree with her.
