What is an "Unlocked" phone?
Many cell phones are designed to use a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card to store subscriber data. These SIM cards are issued by the carrier and provide cell service to the phone. "Locked" cell phones will only recognize SIM cards from the carrier that originally provided the phone. Almost every cell phone provided by a US carrier is locked to that carrier’s network.
"Unlocked" cell phones will recognize SIM cards from any carrier using Global System Mobile Communications (GSM) technology. Customers with "unlocked" cell phones are able to use any GSM carrier of their choosing, including "pre-pay" or "no contract" SIM card options. "Unlocked" cell phones also accept international SIM cards that provide discounted rates while traveling abroad.

Fantastic Smartphone
This is one fantastic device, I replaced my iphone with this and have not looked back. It's fast, responsive, the screen is gorgeous and once you have had it running a few days and learned about Android it becomes even better. I would recommend this device without hesitation

Greatest Android so far
I bought Arc especially because it's very attractive. While nothing else made me disappointed, I'm satisfied. Phone is very good to hold in the hand, it's quite fast. Much above my expectations is writing accuracy - excellent. Especially comparing to my previous Nexus S it's much better.

Excelente smartphone. Um equipamento de comunicações perfeito, em todos os sentidos. Excelentes características, inclusive o funcionamento como Hotspot Wi-Fi portátil.
